Last week, «Kind Hearts’ Fund» managed to attend charity marathon «SAVING TOGETHER», held from 17 to 19 September in the «Speranza» sanatorium (Sergeevka township).

 

Its purpose is to help more than 1,000 displaced residents with disabilities living in the sanatoriums in Odessa region. According to the director of «Speranza» children’s sanatorium Valery Suprunenko, public funding hasn’t been received yet, and living and food for each immigrant costs here 200 hryvnia per day. Money for the alimentation has to be ticked, and care for residents with disabilities requires special attention and, as a consequence, the cost for medicines.

 

It was decided to hold marathon in several stages.The first stage was the art festival «»Art to create life”, in terms of which workshops for sewing handbags, knitting, decoupage, Chinese painting were organized for the displaced residents. And kids were particularly happy with lessons on application, art and fairy tale therapy, felting wool, ebru, painting, soap show and developing games. During the whole festival, professional psychologists worked with children and adults.

 

The second step was  «United Ukraine» concert, in terms of which  the unprecedented charity marathon was held, one of its highlights was the auction. The participating philanthropists donated works of art, the proceeds will be sent  for the purchase of medicines for displaced residents with disabilities.
